The route from La Chaise-Dieu to Le Puy-en-Velay is a walking tour that can be covered in 3 days. Over a distance of 55 km, it will lead you to the discovery of two major historical sites of the Haute-Loire.

You can admire the imposing Abbey of La Chaise-Dieu, famous for its Gothic architecture and classical music festival. This hike will then take you through the villages of Allègre with its medieval village and its “gallows” then Saint-Paulien and its collegiate church. Finally, your trip will end at the historical city of Le Puy-en-Velay, starting point of the Santiago de Compostela route, the via Podiensis.

• Step 1 : la Chaise-Dieu - Allègre, 21 km (5:15 walk)
• Step 2 : Allègre - Saint-Paulien, 16.5 km (4:15 walk)
• Step 3 : Saint-Paulien - le Puy-en-Velay, 17 km (4:30 walk)
