Discover The Passa Païs green trail

La Passa Païs is a cycling route of nearly 80 km located in the heart of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park.

You'll pedal along a sandy and secure former railway line between Mazamet and Bédarieux. This route will take you across the watershed, with the Mediterranean slope on one side and the ocean slope on the other (hence the nickname “Passa Pais” in Occitan meaning “Country Pass”).

Your peaceful advance along the Passa Païs will enable you to enjoy a succession of varied landscapes that will parade before your eyes: forests, scrublands and mountains. You can contemplate the Massif du Caroux, the Montagne Noir and make stops in charming Languedoc villages.

Suggested stages

Of course the following stages can be modified according to your accommodations:

Stage 1 from Mazamet to Saint-Pons-de-Thomières, 37 km (approximately 2h30)
Stage 2 from Saint-Pons-de-Thomières, 40 km (approximately 2h40)

For transportation for up to 8 people with bicycles from Mazamet to Bédarieux or Bédarieux to Mazamet, the fare is €170 from Monday to Saturday and €210 on Sundays and public holidays.
