GR® 58 is a tour of the Queyras Regional Natural Park, located in the Hautes-Alpes. Over 130 kilometres, hikers will cross deep gorges and, like in ancient times, cross a high mountain pass through which so many migrants, pedestrians and goods have travelled...
Here, there are no rocky slopes before reaching the peaks, but rather sunny meadows, whose dazzling June bloom is known to all botanists.
During the Tour of the Queyras, hikers will not be directly faced with high mountains but must nevertheless be able to handle several types of terrain. In these mid-mountain landscapes, they will contemplate larch forests, hamlets and villages, meadows, alpine chalets at the foot of rocky outcrops, moon-like landscapes... Not to mention, of course, Saint-Véran, the highest municipality in Europe, perched at 2,040 metres, with its highest point at 3,175 metres, and the many groundhogs that hikers will encounter along the way.
